Jace, born in Le Havre, is quite an internationally famous street artist. His character, Gouzou, can be found on walls and other places around the world. It’s therefore no surprise that Jace worked on doing something special for the 500 years celebration of the city of Le Havre…
Jace spray painted 51 masterpieces around the city; from the top of the hill to the sea side. Some of them very big and obvious ……

….. some small and hidden

The 51 Gouzous need to be found! It has therefore become a treasure-hunt. Find the Gouzou, take a selfie (a photo of the Gouzou with you in the picture), add the tag ”#CatchMeIfYouSprayCan” and post it on social media.

The first one who finds them all gets an original work of art of the artist, and the 15 next ones get a silkscreen by Jace.

Apart from winning, it’s a great way of discovering the city of Le Havre.

Apart from being beautifully spray painted, the Gouzou are also only funny and in most cases are appropriate of the location of the Gouzou. You will find them on walls, electricity or phone distribution boxes …

… on grain silos in the harbour to …

… to doors of buildings and power company distribution boxes. The one above even has a subtle climate change message…

This Gouzou was spray painted in a corner. As usual, they are smartly done, very creative.
Some of them are even more complex, requiring several photos to show it all:

Here are some of the 51 Gouzous (in total I found 20 in one day).

The last one was a bit difficult to take since it’s above a busy “end-of-the-motorway”….
So if you like Jace’s works of art and want to discover Le Havre, why not go and discover all 51. Remember to post a photo of you, the Gouzou and the tag on the social media.
