Train: There is a train link between Paris and the shared railway station of Trouville-sur-Mer and Deauville. There are several daily direct (and ones where you need to change) trains. Fastest time is 2 hours.

Ferry: Closest ferry harbours from the UK are Ouistreham (Caen) and Le Havre

Air: Deauville has an international airport with regular flights to the UK from companies like Ryanair.

There is no need for transportation inside the town, it’s small enough to walk everywhere.

Restaurants

Plenty of restaurants, many with fresh fish, but all types of food are available.

TIP: Do go to the fish market and eat fresh fish on the spot. Arrive early, and squeeze in. Food is cooked on the spot, but the choice is limited to fish, fish and fish. But they do serve wine.

Hotels

There are plenty of hotels, maybe not as many as next door Deauville, but enough selection for any budget.

Things To See/Things To Do

  • Walk the beach promenade, admire the mansions.
  • Do take the ferry to Deauville. It’s a one minute boat ride across the river, bringing you to a landing point in Deauville. It’s a fun ride.

  • When the tide is out, the ferry operator pulls out a walking bridge allowing you to walk to the other side. Again, it’s a fun little walk.

  • The casino is quite nice and big, although the majority of gambling are slot machines.
  • There is a very new and modern spa/thalasso/wellness, which is well equipped. The small warm salt water pool is ideal for your blood circulation.
  • There is a small boot tour which shows you the coast area.
