Within Saint-Jean-de-Luz

The city is flat, with narrow streets. So you’ll not find an enormous public transportation network, since walking in the city centre is easy. The public bus network, called Hegobus, services not only Saint-Jean-de-Luz but also the neighbouring towns.

Access the Hegobus web site to consult their routes and times by clicking here (in English). They also have smartphone apps to tell you not only where you can go for a bus, but it also allows you to buy your tickets with your phone!! Saint-Jean-de-Luz Hegobus logo

Cars

Driving in Saint-Jean-de-Luz is not really advised. The streets are narrow and there are not that many parking spots. The city has two large underground parking garages and a few streetside parking spots, however you can during the high season park your car outside the city and take one of the free shuttle buses.

Restaurants

There are some 200 restaurants, and they are predominantly French/Basque style food. You will find a few ethnic restaurants, but they are vastly outnumbered by the local food.

Prices range between cheap and moderate.

Hotels

You will not find wall-to-wall hotels here, more smaller ones that cater for “normal” crowds, not the jetset. Prices are moderate for most of them.
