Winery Chateau Cantenac Brown at Margaux-Cantenac

Margaux-Cantenac – Chateau Cantenac Brown

Chateau Cantenac Brown, located in the Margaux-Cantenac area, boasts a name that sounds somewhat English. This can be attributed to the fact that in 1806, a Scottish man by the name of John Lewis Brown purchased grape vines and constructed a Tudor-style castle in the village for the purpose of cultivating grapes.

Over the years the castle and its wines have changed hands many times, as have most of the other wineries. The estate counts 48 hectares (119 acres) of grapes.
