Deauville – The Artists – Overview and Map

Artists (painters, photographers, etc) from all over the world have come, and are still coming, to Normandy to paint. The fantastic light, a plethora of subjects and the ease of getting there made it a hotspot for all sorts of artists.

The cities of Caen, Le Havre, Deauville, Trouville or Dieppe, saw a large share of these artists.

Below is a map with the places where these artists created their works of art. I’ve only listed one place per city they painted in, and this map is limited to Deauville and its surroundings since there were many artists to catalog.

NOTE: Click on an “art” icon on the map below to see a painting of the artist, their name and then click on the artist’s name at the bottom of the painting to see all his paintings of that area (in a new window).

NOTE: You can zoom in and out of the map! BUT remember, that one icon may hide another one if you are zoomed out too much.

Deauville was (and still is) a popular place to paint. Here are the artists we found that worked in the city and its surroundings. When an artist’s work is published by us, we’ll show a link (“⇠“) to their works of art. A “*” indicates that the artist did NOT paint directly in Deauville, instead worked in Deauville’s surroundings.
