Bayeux – The Artists – Overview and Map

Artists from all over the world have come to Normandy to paint. The fantastic light, a plethora of subjects and the ease of getting there made it a hotspot for all sorts of artists.

The city of Bayeux did not attract as many artists as places like Le Havre, Deauville, Trouville or Dieppe, despite being a pretty city, but they still had a few.

Below is a map with the places where these artists created their works of art. I’ve only listed one place per city they painted in, and this map is limited to Bayeux and its surroundings since there were many artists to catalog.

NOTE: Click on an “art” icon on the map below to see a painting of the artist, their name and then click on the artist’s name at the bottom of the painting to see all his paintings of that area (in a new window).

NOTE: You can zoom in and out of the map! BUT remember, that one icon may hide another one if you are zoomed out too much.

Artists featured on our site who painted in Bayeux (but not limited to) are (a “*” indicates that the artist did not work directly in Bayeux, instead worked in a nearby town):
