Georges Jean-Marie Haquette (1852 – 1906), was a French painter who acquired a reputation as a painter of fishermen.

He entered the School of Fine Arts where he was a pupil of Alexandre Cabanel. But after his studies, he became a sailor.

He can, therefore, make on the spot picturesque scenes that are the subject of his paintings.

Not much else is known about this artist.

Haquette painted in many sea areas in France, however, very few of the paintings have their location identified. In fact, only place that he identified was Dieppe.
